Annual Fall Gathering

The annual Fall Gathering will be held August 5 - 7 at Friends Memorial Church in Muncie, Indiana. Here is the schedule of events:

Friday, August 5 Friends Memorial Church
7p.m. - Early Bird Reception

Saturday, August 6 Friends Memorial Church
9a.m. - Meetinghouse opens, announcements, coffee, donuts, introductions
9:30a.m. - Hymns and Open Worship
10:15a.m. - Keynote speaker/lecture with Wess Daniels of Guilford College
12:00p.m. - Lunch (included in price of registration)
1:00p.m. - Recording Ministers Recognition & Celebration
1:30-2:30p.m. - Worship with newly recorded ministers
3:00p.m. - Workshops:
    David Edinger - Peru FWCC
    Michael Sherman - Cuba, FUM
    Tom Hamm - Pendle Hill
    Michelle Wood - Pine Ridge Reservation
4:00p.m. - Bible Study with Jay Marshall
5:00p.m. - Dinner

Michael Sherman recently traveled with a Friends United Meeting work team to Cuba and offers this report to the New Association.


Transfer of assets completed

Fountain City Friends Meetinghouse

On October 1, at a meeting of representatives of Indiana Yearly Meeting and the New Association of Friends, the New Association received:

  • title to the Fountain City Meetinghouse,
  • its share of the Undesignated Endowment,
  • the unspent balance in the current year Geoffrey Sawyer fund, and
  • the Geoffrey Sawyer, Earlham, Earlham School of Religion and Ramallah Friends School endowed funds.

 

First Friends Meeting, Richmond, Indiana hires Associate Pastor

WELCOME MATTHEW HAMM- At the called meeting for business on June 1st the meeting came to unity about calling Matthew Hamm to serve as our new, part-time, Associate Pastor.  Matt's work will be divided between office management, and our family ministries programs.  Matt began his work June 3rd.  Please be sure to greet Matt.  Following meeting for worship on June 8th, the Hospitality Commission will hold a welcome reception in Matt's honor.
