ESR Pastor's Conference

ESR Pastor's Conference

Ministry always has challenges. Ministering in anxious times provides some unique challenges. Kelly Burk (counselor and pastor) will engage us in preparing ourselves for how to meet the challenges and meet people where they are without losing ourselves. Jim Higginbotham (professor of pastoral care) will provide additional insight and perspective. The ESR Pastors Conference will include interactive elements throughout the day.

Presented by the Quaker Leadership Center @ Earlham School of Religion

This topic is so important and pertinent to our times that ESR’s Quaker Leadership Center is offering this experience as a “Pay-as-Led.” This means you pay what you can. Please note that for onsite participants this event does include lunch. The actual cost to provide this program is $50 per person onsite and $25 per person for online (Zoom) Please keep these factors in mind as you discern what you can pay.

Midwest Youth & Young Adult Worker Gathering

Are you working with Quaker youth or young adults—or feeling a strong leading to do so? Mark your calendar for a special regional gathering of youth and young adult workers.

We’ll come together at Quaker Hill Conference Center, 10 Quaker Hill Drive in Richmond, IN, starting with dinner on Friday, August 8, and wrap up after breakfast on Sunday, August 10.

Whether you’re a volunteer, staff member, or simply discerning a call to this ministry, this weekend is for you.

Expect meaningful connection, shared resources, encouragement, and likely the guidance of a consultant with experience in young adult ministry to help us deepen and grow our work.

Please let interested Friends in your meeting or church know. Here is the sign up sheet for anyone interested in attending. Room and board will be covered by a grant for this event!  And if you have any questions, contact: tom.s@westernyearlymeeting.org.
